The Registrar and Chief Executive of the Joint
Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor ‘Dibu Ojerinde has indicated
that the carrying capacity of all tertiary institutions in the country is
currently less than 800,000.
This simply implies that over 500,000 candidates out
of the 1.4 million candidates who sat for the 2015 UTME will likely not gain
admission this year.
According to him this informed the Boards decision to redistribute candidates in order to give them a better chance of gaining admission but with the agitations coming from different quarters it was obvious that people do not want problem solved.
