Prof. Mohammed Bello emerges Vice Chancellor of Bayero University,Kano.

A former Director, Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Bayero University, Kano, Prof. Mohammed Bello, on Tuesday emerged the new Vice Chancellor of the Bayero University, Kano.

 Bello defeated 10 other contestants to emerge the new Vice Chancellor, having polled 834 out of 1,187 votes cast during an election to decide the new university helmsman.


Other candidates, who contested the poll are Prof. Mohammed Abdullahi, 36 votes; Prof. Mohammada Sule, 116 votes; Prof. Muhammad Suleiman, 102 votes; Prof. Lawal Danladi, 17 votes; Prof. Kamilu Sani Fagge, 61 votes; and Prof. Abdulraman Audu, 17 votes.

Bello, after his election would have been ratified by the university’s Governing Council and the Presidency, will succeed the out-going Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, who has spent five years as Vice Chancellor of the University.
