Wike, Ambode Dissolve Boards of Parastatals, Agencies

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, and that of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, have dissolved all boards and parastatals in their states.
A statement issued on Monday in Port Harcourt by Wike’s Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, said the dissolution was with immediate effect, adding that the dissolved boards were to handover to their various authorities.
He however said the boards of Rivers State Waste Management Authority and that of Greater Port Harcourt Authority were not affected.
In Lagos, the dissolution was said to have signalled the beginning of strategic reforms the governor promised in his inauguration speech.
The decision was contained in a statement signed Ambode’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Habib Aruna, which stated that the dissolution took immediate effect, though the reason for the decision was not stated.
