Ahmed appoints Muritala Awodun as pioneer head of Revenue Service
Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara has approved the appointment of Dr Muritala Awodun as the pioneer Executive Chairman of Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS).
This was made known on Monday in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications to the Governor, Dr Muyideen Akorede.
Akorede said Ahmed also approved the appointment of Dr Isaac Gbenle as the new Director of Field Operation, Processes and Research.
According to the governor’s aide, the appointments were made following a rigorous selection and interview process to ensure that only the best candidates were chosen in view of the strategic importance of KWIRS.
Until his appointment, Awodun was the Dean of the School of Business and Governance, Kwara State University, Malete.
He was also the founding Director of KWASU Centre for Entrepreneurship and the founding Head of the Department of Management Sciences.
Awodun is also a Fellow of the Institute of Entrepreneurs, Nigeria, and the Institute of Direct Marketing of Nigeria as well as alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Business School Executive Education Program and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Gbenle, the new Director Operation, Processes and Research, is a recognised leader in IT Assurance and Security as well as an expert in Enterprise IT and governance. (NAN)
