Three killed in another suicide attack in Maiduguri

Less than 24 hours after suicide bomb attack rocked Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, reports reaching DAILY POST say the bombers hit Airport junction checkpoint in Maiduguri, Tuesday night, killing three people and injuring one other.

A soldier and the two suspected suicide bombers lost their lives, while a female passersby sustained injuries.
Residents in the area told our correspondent that the two suicide bombers were seen around the airport junction since 12:00 noon on Tuesday.

“When residents became suspicious of their movement, they left, only to return in the evening.

“We were able to recognise one of the corpses, because we saw them waiting around the airport junction. Perhaps, they were waiting to attack some VIPs. When the soldier approached them, they detonated the explosive, killing the soldier”, Mala Bukar told DAILY POST.
