The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, on Friday raised the
alarm on the activities of some impostors, he alleged had been impersonating
him via various social media platforms to defraud unsuspecting members of the
public.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Habib Aruna, the governor said
some dubious characters were attempting to capitalise on his goodwill to dupe
members of the public, particularly his associates.
He said he had been inundated with complaints from his associates, alerting
him of the rapid proliferation of his identity in the cyberspace under different
platforms, especially the social media, with obvious intents to defraud
Nigerians.

Ambode alleged that a faceless character, who currently operates with the e-
mail: a_ambode@yahoo.com , had been going about soliciting CVs from his
friends and acquaintances with a promise to offer them appointments.
He added that there were multiple identities these faceless persons operate on
Facebook with his name and photographs.
The governor urged Nigerians to disregard any offer from these unscrupulous
characters, calling on the public to report such fraudsters to the law
enforcement agencies to ensure that those behind the nefarious act could be
made to face the wrath of the law.
Ambode also assured the public that efforts would be made to apprehend those
behind the dastardly act.
