Senator Saraki pays Obasanjo a visit.(Photos)

According to Premium Times, a source who was present at the meeting
revealed that Saraki was there to beg the former President to help reconcile
him (Saraki) with President Muhammadu Buhari and his party, the All
Progressives Congress, APC.

Meanwhile, The presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu has rejected the notion
that Saraki seeked Buhari’s audience.
According to Mr. Shehu: “I am not aware of any request for a meeting, the
president would have seen him, he represents a key institution in our
democracy” .

Obasanjo is later said to joke with the delegation, saying “ you children of
nowadays only run to elders when you have finished making the damage”.

According to newsmen, when Obasanjo called Buhari to tell him of Saraki’s
visit, Buhari simply said “you have to see them now, are they not your boys?”.
Among Mr. Saraki’s delegation include former governor of Gombe state,
Danjuma Goje, Andy Uba, former Zamfara governor, Ahmed Sani, Olagunsoye
Oyinlola and others.

Meanwhile, Saraki’s media aide Bamikole Omishore told newsmen that “the
courtesy visit to the elder statesman was in continuation of senate president’s
tour of drawing from the wealth of experience and knowledge of elder
statesmen across the nation on ways to move our dear nation forward”.

Obasanjo and Saraki have had long-standing relationship, it was Obasanjo
during his stint as President in 2000 appointed Saraki as Special Assistant on
Budget related issues which marked Saraki’s first political role.
