Christian of Today: we will stop being Junkies...

Welcome to another Christian of Today episode... Today we will stop being Junkies...

Yep!! You read right we'll stop being junkies.

When I was transitioning into my natural hair, my beloved friend kept reminding me not to be a product junkie and the reason she explains was  so that I will see my desired results...

If I became a product junkie, there will be too many products getting into my hair and  it will slow down or even totally thwart my results...

So as Christians we will stop being "Church junkies" you know why? Because like the hair it will thwart spiritual growth... The reasons couldn't not be overemphasized and they are because

1.) Sometimes your spiritual strength is sometimes more than the churches you keep jumping to... Take for instance you see a banner and you go for the program only for you to find out that you even know more than the pastor... That the pastor is even a new convert... So you have way better understanding of all he's been doing and will do.... Let's assume the program was a vigil... Waste of night time  I will call it!

Sometimes your spirituality isn't strong enough for some church programs and prayers... You should know because there are steps to Christian spirituality and one has to  follow the ladder to heaven... Its one step at a time

I remember one time RCCG had their convention and titled it something about eagle's wings, I can't remember it verbatim but a few months later I found out another church had a crusade and titled it the same and then it occurred to me that God who revealed the messages to different pastors at different times want the message for different people too at different times... Someone who went for the one in RCCG and came for the one in the other church and might still go for another like eagle's wings crusade in another is only wasting his/her time and dragging back his or her prayers...

By the time S(he) finds out that being a church junkie doesn't pay S(he) goes back in time spiritually and has to start off again and as they say "...time lost can never be regained"

2.) The powers in some church might not be divine, you never can tell... You can't be praying through God through festish powers and expect the prayers to be answered that's not possible... You know! Those fetish powers can reduce ur spirituality, it can also make you backslide... It can make you even loose God as a Christian... Because what you know will be different from what you hear from your "new church"

3 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for evidence of things not seen Heb 11:1

Whether you go to all the churches in the world and you don't have faith, you will not find the deliverance you seek because even the  faith needed to work on the prayers is lost... If you don't believe in the powers working with the church you attend then you can't make it in other churches you attend every other week... You don't own all the problems in the world so stay calm with God...

That doesn't mean you shouldn't leave a church that isn't spiritually sound, but don't become a Nomad looking for what's not lost...

Pray to God to choose a right church that will help you grow spiritually and not reduce you...

Remember the love Jesus has for the church cannot be overemphasized...

love,
Channa
