Amala is a locally made food of the Yoruba tribe in south western Nigeria,
is made from cassava flour, yam flour or plantain flour.
It is highly rich in carbohydrate.
Amala is best eaten with egusi (melon soup), gbegiri (bean soup) and efo (vegetable soup) and ewedu.
