Court asked to disqualify Gbajabiamila from being the Speaker of the House tomorrow over Indictment in the US.

The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court today, hearing an ex-parte motion seeking to disqualify Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila from emerging as the Speaker of the House of Representatives tomorrow.

Justice Abdul Kafarati is presiding over the suit which was lodged before the high court by the Registered Trustees of Social Justice and Civil Rights Awareness Initiative.

The group, in the suit filed pursuant to Order 26 Rule 8 of the Federal High Court Civil Procedure Rules, 2009, is contending that Hon. Gbajabiamila is not morally fit to head the third arm of governance in Nigeria, alleging that he was previously ‎”convicted in the state of Georgia for unethical practices and was debarred as a lawyer for 36 months”.

Nollywood actress, Ini Edo, on Sunday, June 7, 2015 visited the Heart of Gold Children’s Hospice located in Surulere  Lagos as part of her philanthropy and she shared pictures of her visit.

Being touched by what she saw, she used the caption of the photo to solicit for help for the children. The hospice provides care for children born with disabilities.

Obasa becomes Speaker of the Lagos State Assembly.

The lawmaker representing Agege Constituency 1, Mudashiru Obasa, has emerged the Speaker of the 8TH Lagos State Assembly.

Obasa, who is a fourth term legislator, was nominated by Mr. Olanrewaju Oshun of Mainland Constituency 2 and the motion was seconded by Mr. Sola Giwa of Lagos Island constituency 2.

The new Speaker, who is a loyal supporter of a leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was elected  unopposed.

Wife clubs husband to death in Kaduna for keeping late nights.

The police in Kaduna have arrested a 40-year- old housewife, Mary Luca, who allegedly clubbed her husband to death at their Gonin Gora area of Kaduna metropolis.

Family sources said the incident occurred last Friday when the deceased returned home in the early hours of the morning and an argument ensued after the wife’s complaint that her husband always returned home late.

“Mary had on several occasions accused her husband of keeping late hours outside the matrimonial home and had advised him to put a stop to such habit,” the source said.

One of the deceased’s sons, Kefa, said he heard his father shouting around 3am that day and called on his mother to inquire what was happening to his father.

Buhari to sit with Obama today at the G-7 summit in Germany.
